ICYMI, actress Belle Mariano just made history as the first Filipina actress to receive the Outstanding Asian Star at the 17th Seoul International Drama Awards (SDA) in Seoul, South Korea. Belle is also the only third Filipino to win the prestigious award, after Alden Richards in 2019 and Dingdong Dantes in 2020. The 20-year-old received the award for her lead role in the widely acclaimed series He’s Into Her, and she represented the country at the awards show, wearing a proudly Filipino outfit as styled by fashion stylist Adrianne Concepcion.
Belle’s stunning fully beaded, pink gown is a custom creation by Francis Libiran. Inspired by the traditional Filipiniana, the dress features an asymmetric top with a Filipiniana sleeve and a long, flowy cape on one shoulder. Following a trumpet silhouette, the gown fits snugly around the waist before smoothly flowing down, while a thigh-high slit shows off the legs. She paired her outfit with light and natural make-up and a clean and simple updo by Jake Galvez and RJ Dela Cruz.
Belle’s simple yet chic platform heels are a bespoke pair from MX Studio. According to the local shoe studio, the pair are custom-made ultra-high platform heels in light pink without any additional embellishments, keeping all eyes on the stunning gown.

As she accepted her award, Belle emphasized how proud she was to be a Filipino, as evident in her fashion choice for the ceremony. She gave thanks to a slew of names, including the He’s Into Her team, her partner Donny Pangilinan, and her mother. “Mahal ko kayong lahat at mabuhay tayong lahat,” she ended.
no- cause this is just such a cute interaction, Belle telling Kang Daniel that it’s his turn to go to the stage and Kang Daniel smiling and saying something to her cause he was confused…🥺 pic.twitter.com/hmpqWxl9iF

The 20-year-old turned heads at the award ceremony as she met many fellow stars from all over Asia. Including Belle, only 5 artists received the award, surpassing over 170 actors from all over Asia. The other winners are Yusei Yagi (Japan), Alice Ko (Taiwan), Wallace Chung (China), and Krit Amnuaydechkorn (Thailand).
But fans couldn’t help but notice Belle’s interactions with one particular artist: soloist Kang Daniel. From accidentally looking at each other to guiding her to the stage exit, these small yet adorable moments made fans squeal. Most clarified that they are “not shipping them” since they are avid supporters of Belle’s love team partnership with Donny Pangilinan. For fans, receiving a prestigious award and meeting global stars are just further proof Belle is a “queen” making history.
