Did Atty. Vic Rodriguez Resign as Executive Secretary of Pres. Bongbong Marcos?
VIC RODRIGUEZ – The Executive Secretary of President Bongbong Marcos broke his silence on the rumor that he resigned from his post.
Pres. Bongbong Marcos has started his 6-year term as the country’s Chief Executive. He took his oath at the Philippine National Museum last June 30 and it gathered the Marcoses, the people who have greatly helped him in his campaign, his Cabinet members, and several distinguished guests including former Philippine presidents and representatives and officials from other countries.
One of the people who has been with Marcos Jr. since the hectic campaign period is Atty. Vic Rodriguez, the former spokesman of the 64-year-old President. Following Marcos Jr.’s victory in the Elections 2022, the lawyer was appointed as his executive secretary.
However, recently, there are rumors that Rodriguez resigned from his post as the President’s executive secretary. There are also allegations that he has squabbles with other Palace officials.
Atty. Vic Rodriguez broke his silence on the rumors that he resigned as the executive secretary of Pres. Bongbong Marcos. Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, Rodriguez denied the rumors saying that he is still in office.
After junking the rumor, Rodriguez stressed that saying yes to an appointment requires automatic acceptance that you may be asked to leave anytime but “until that happens, you stay”. He also denied that he is in conflict with other Palace officials. He expressed that they are okay and they see each other every Cabinet meetings and the go to his office if they have urgent needs.
According to the Executive Secretary, he thinks that the criticism may be coming along with his position as the secretary of the President. He stressed that he will continue while he can and he has just started with his work.
