Pres. Duterte Flies Home to Davao City after 6-Year Term

DUTERTE – Former Philippine President Rodrigo Roa Duterte arrived in his hometown, Davao City, Thursday night after stepping down from his position.

A new administration has started its term in the Philippines. Now Pres. Bongbong Marcos has finally assumed office following his inauguration which was held yesterday at the Philippine National Museum in Manila. It gathered the Marcos family, his Cabinet members, and several distinguished guests including key officials from other countries.

Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte went to Malacañang for the last time as the country’s president and waited for Marcos Jr. The now former President and the current Chief Executive have not discussed what they have talked about before the inauguration.

Marcos Jr. secured over 30 million votes during the Elections 2022. His landslide victory was supported by several huge political parties and local government officials in the country.

After stepping down as president of the Philippines, now former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte was spotted visiting a mall in Makati City. He is now back to being a private citizen. On the same day, he also flew home to his hometown, Davao City.

Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, the former President arrived at Davao City International Airport at 7:17 p.m. through a commercial flight. A water salute was prepared as tribute to the former Chief Executive. A lot of people also applaud the former President and flight attendants expressed their gratitude to him for his six-year service.

Prior to becoming president of the country, the 77-year-old former Chief Executive has served the people of Davao for around two (2) decades. He is a former mayor of the city. A local mall and some of his supporters has organized a homecoming concert for the former President and the event gathered at least 1,000 people.
