Vice Pres. Leni Robredo Exits OVP as 6-Year Term Ends
LENI ROBREDO – The outgoing Vice President shared a video of her last morning in the office and her final exit.
The six-year term of Vice Pres. Robredo has ended. It was in 2016 when she won the vice presidency and started taking on the role of the second-highest government official in the country. She had her office at Quezon City Reception House in New Manila.
In her six years of office, the Vice President was on the frontline of criticisms and fake news which are circulated by the alleged “trolls”. She was vocal about her stand on key issues involving the nation and, visibly, did not have a smooth relationship with the President.
Despite having limited funds, the Office of the Vice President (OVP) was able to launch several programs that benefit a lot of people, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic. Vice Pres. Leni Robredo is also one of those who are on the ground to help provide relief for the calamity victims. A lot of people in the private sector trusted the OVP and helped in sustaining its programs.
Robredo ran for president as an independent candidate in the Elections 2022 but failed to make it to the top rank. She secured around 15 million votes which made her the 2nd placer in the presidential race. Meanwhile, the grief of her supporters over the election results was instantly replaced with a new light of hope when she announced the launching of Angat Buhay, the flagship program of the OVP, as a non-government organization.
A lot of supporters of the pink movement expressed their willingness to support and be part of Angat Buhay Foundation. It is set to be launched in July.
Recently, Vice Pres. Leni Robredo had her last morning at the OVP. It was documented and was shared by the outgoing Vice President on social media. She had mixed emotions with gratitude taking the top spot for being given the opportunity to serve. Here’s the video she posted on Facebook:
