With Sexbomb Next Gen carrying the torch for the new generation, it’s easy to assume that the original-flavor Sexbomb girls are still just out there, but aside from doing a few shows during the campaign period, it’s pretty clear that most of them have moved on by now.
So who was your OG Sexbomb bias? Let’s find out what they’re up to nowadays:
8. Weng Ibarra
Best Known As: The Chinita.
Weng Ibarra was one of the OG members who didn’t have the kind of huge fandom ala Rochelle or Jopay, but had quite a cult following, nonetheless. She’s the member who best explains the connection between The Sexbomb Dancers and today’s P-Pop girls. Let’s face it: these ladies walked so that Blackpink and AKB48 can run.
Weng left the group early on in 2007 to focus on family. She had a brief comeback a year later, then ultimately called it quits in 2010.
Today: Happy wifey, happy lifey.
Weng took to momhood like a fish to water, and has been a minor online influencer on Instagram (@wengibarra), where she caters to her 8,300++ followers. She could use a few more followers, if you ask us.
7. Evette Pabalan
Best Known As: The dark horse
Excluding Sugar Mercardo (and we don’t talk about Sugar, no, no. no), Evette is the Sexbomb member best known mainly for being one of the singers on their album. Not a surprise at all, when you realize that she rose to prominence by doing a dead-on Alanis Morrissette impersonation on Eat! Bulaga to put herself on the map.
Today: Composed the song for their reunion.
The Sexbomb girls did a reunion early on during the pandemic in 2020, and Evette played no small part by composing the song they performed. Not bad at all!
6. Monic Icban
Best Known As: Arguably the best singer in the group.
Monic stood out as the singer in a group of dancer/singers. If that’s not one heck of an achievement, nothing is.
Today: A total enigma.
A lot of people say she has taken her singing talents to church. Others say she is often seen in Zumba classes with her hubby. Outside of that, very little is known about Monic at present because aside from her personal Facebook account, she really keeps to herself.
5. Sunshine Garcia
Best Known As: The bombshell.
Nobody can say that the Sexbomb girls weren’t lookers, but only one of them got featured on FHM’s cover without the rest of them. Sunshine Garcia was sultry, and almost did not fit with the just-the-right-amount-of-naughty flavor the Sexbomb girls were going for. Where the others walked the tightrope between being kid-friendly and sexy, Sunshine Garcia just jumped across without even trying.
Today: Bulacan’s second lady.
Married to the newly-elected vice-governor of Bulacan, Sunshine easily exudes class and charm in what should be a new and challenging role for her. Her Instagram (@sunshine_garcia) paints a picture of someone living her best life, and it really shows.
4. Aira Bermudez
Best Known As: Ms. Longevity
Aira was the only Sexbomb member who lasted from 2000 all the way to 2017. That has to be a record of some sort. Known as one of the best dancers among the group (which is saying something), she’s pretty much outlasted everyone in the group throughout her tenure.
Today: Leading the next generation.
Aira is still doing reunion gigs with the Sexbomb girls from time to time, but she’s best known at present for being head choreographer and co-manager of Sexbomb Next Gen. Swing by her Instagram (@airabermudez) — you never know when she’d take to the stage next!
3. Izzy Trazona
Best Known As: Ms. Mestiza
Tall, fair-skinned, and sings as well as she dances. That was Izzy in a nutshell, and why she always had her fans back in the day.
Today: The fitness queen!
Unconfirmed reports say she works in a pharmaceutical store, but her Instagram (@izzytrazona_aragon) most recently told us she’s a fitness instructor and an influencer. We’re more inclined to believe that, and even while she’s currently pregnant, she’s still definitely dancing up a storm on Tiktok whenever she can.
2. Jopay Paguia
Best Known As: That Mayonnaise Song
Most mainstream Sexbomb fans either went for Jopay or Rochelle. They were the two most popular members of the group, and it was amazing how they never had a clash of egos despite their shared massive popularity. But then, only one of them has a song named after them, so…
Today: A doting momfluencer.
We know, we know. That word salad might make some of us cringe, but it’s so true. One look at her Instagram (@jopaypaguiazamora) should tell you that she’s enjoying motherhood to the fullest, and getting tons of endorsements along the way. She recently celebrated the first birthday of her second child, Ariana.
1. Rochelle Pangilinan
Best Known As: Being the Leader
For years, even after she left, Rochelle was the de facto face of the entire outfit. With her amazing dance moves, girl-next-door appeal, and game personality, it’s no surprise why she enjoyed a lot of success as the leader of the group.
Today: Surprisingly politically active.
While most other Sexbomb girls either supported smaller candidates or mostly stayed quiet during the previous elections, Rochelle did not hesitate to throw her support for one of the presidential candidates last May. We won’t give you a clue which presidentiable this was: you’d never guess who she is.
